Background

I've always been fascinated by the intersection of physical movement, wearable technology, and sound design. This project emerged from my desire to conceptualize how musicians might control sonic parameters through natural gestures. While I had created various experimental interfaces, I had yet to develop a cohesive brand narrative around these innovations. The Wrip Watch project became my canvas for exploring how to position a wearable MIDI controller within the professional music production ecosystem.

Objective

Create a distinct brand identity representing the wrip watch.

Design Phase 1: Brand Strategy & Visual Language

The first phase involved researching the competitive landscape, identifying audience segments, and developing a strategic framework for the brand positioning. I created comprehensive mood boards to define the visual language and tonal attributes that would differentiate Wrip in the market.

Design Phase 2: Logo Development & Iteration

The logo development process was methodical and iterative, beginning with conceptual sketches that explored various visual metaphors for musical control, motion, and wearable technology. After generating numerous concepts, I refined selected directions through multiple iterations, focusing on geometric precision, scalability, and recognition.
